Welcome to the Media Center! 

 

This Year's Summer Reading theme is "All Together Now". It is a collaboration between the Carroll County Public Library and Carroll County Public Schools. If you complete the public library Summer Reading program and earn 300 points, you will be eligible for rewards from CCPL. (See CCPL Game Board Log for more details) Game boards are in the week 8 packets that every student received and in report card envelopes.

Every Other Week (3rd Grades will begin every other week check outs in January.)

All students are welcome to exchange their media book(s) in the morning before school or when their teacher gives them permission to visit the library.

Overdue Notices

Parents of K-3 students will receive an Overdue Book Notice in an email when a book is one week overdue. 

Parents of 4-5 students will receive an Overdue Book Notice in an email when a book is two weeks overdue. 

Students will not be able to check out materials until the overdue item is returned or money is sent in to buy a replacement. If a lost book is paid for and then found by the following school year, we will reimburse you.

Book Return

Students in Kindergarten return their books on their second media class day. First through Fifrth Graders return their books on the day of their media class.

Events

Photo Contest

It’s that time of year again to bring out your cameras or use your cell phones to capture some great pictures!  The Media Center wants to give students a chance to show off their photography skills!  All students are welcome to participate.  Pamphlets are available in the media center. 

Photographs are due to the FVE Media Center by Friday, April 5th.

Photos will be on exhibit in the Friendship Valley Elementary Media Center until Friday, April 19th

Teachers will vote for  1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.  Students will vote for their favorites.  Parents will be able to view the photos once the pictures have been submitted and the winners have been selected.  Please come back on April 16th to see our virtual gallery.
